More than food on our minds…

Has it been awhile since you’ve chosen Beacon Hill as your ‘dinner out’ destination? Did you know our very own El Quetzal serves up some of the best tacos pescados (fish tacos) in town? The current spotlight on Beacon Hill restaurants, like today’s Seattle Times Dining Out and the recent Seattle Met article, make the Beacon Hill Merchants Association want to celebrate!

Come out on Saturday, October 29th for dinner on the town. The Beacon Hill Merchants Association is sponsoring The Beacon Boogie: Five bands in five venues for five dollars. No charge for kids 12 and under. All venues on Beacon Ave. S. within a half block of S. Handford Street.

Start the evening with chef Jerry Corso’s delectable pizza and gypsy jazz with Trio Zazou at Bar del Corso from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Then from 7:00 to 10:00 pm four other venues will host a range of Cuban son, folk and jazz. SuperSones plays El Quetzal, and ChoroLoco will help kick off the Almendra Sandoval Photography Exhibition next door at Quetzalcoatl Gallery. Abe’s Cuts & Kicks will be open too – drop in for a quick hair cut – then stop in for Trio Á Propos‘ special style of jazz at Kusina Filipina. Top the evening off with a hot drink and the Greg Ruby Trio at Victrola Coffee Roasters.
