‘Only in Seattle’ award to support Beacon Hill programs

Mayor McGinn announcing investment in neighborhoods

The Beacon Hill Merchants Association was awarded $38,000 through the City of Seattle’s Office Of Economic Development ‘Only in Seattle’ program. These funds will support Beacon Hill Merchants’ programs and ongoing sponsorship of business community projects and events such as the upcoming grand (re)opening of Jefferson Park; Beacon Hill’s beat-walk style event, the Beacon Boogie, and the mini-grant program.

Now in its 2nd year, the Beacon Hill Merchants Association greatly appreciates the opportunity through continued funding, to design and complete a business district revitalization plan, one that will involve many stakeholders and incorporate outcomes from past Beacon Hill plans.

Beacon Hill Merchants will also continue to maintain the Beacon Hill Resource Center (BHRC), which functions as office space and increasingly as shared meeting space in collaboration with community groups like the North Beacon Hill Council, Beacon Food Forest, The Friends of Lewis Park, and Beacon B.I.K.E.S. The BHRC is located at the Beacon Hill Public Library 2821 Beacon Ave. South.
