Dinner and musical treats on Beacon Hill

We’ve been working hard to line up some fun for our Beacon Hill neighbors – that’s right, put Beacon Hill on your radar for evening dinner/musical treats this weekend! Pick a night or make it double fun SAT 5-9 and SUN 4-9pm. Read on for details:

Saturday, June 9th | Starting from 5pm | All venues within half block of Hanford Ave. South

Kusina Filipina, 3201 Beacon Ave. South                                            5:00 – 8:00 pm
Dina Blade and Greg Glassman will perform from 5-8pm so plan to arrive on the early side to enjoy your Chicken Adobo with the dulcet tones of Dina’s vocals before heading to the next venue.

Bar del Corso, 3057 Beacon Ave. South                                               5:00 – 8:00 pm
You gotta see this: Owner Jerry del Corso spinning his magic dough to the beat! Seriously, imagine the mellifluous strains of Hugh Sutton‘s accordion mingling with dinner conversation, clinking wine glasses and the enticing smell of real pizza italiano… nice!

El Quetzal, 3209 Beacon Ave. South                                                     6:00 – 9:00 pm
We’ve brought SuperSones back to the hill! Come on and dance with us! If you’re not already a fan, click the link to learn more about this local favorite.

Victrola Coffee Roasters, 3215 Beacon Ave. South                          6:00 – 9:00 pm
Coffee, tea and Audio Couture! Check out this improvisational jazz/hip hop duo while you sip on some yummy roast or a favorite dessert drink.

Sunday, June 10th from 4 – 9pm | All venues within one block of South Lander Street (also known as Roberto Maestas Festival St.)

The Station, 2533 – 16th Ave. South
Come celebrate The Station’s second year anniversary! From 4-5pm local Azteca Dancers Ameyaltonal will lead a ceremonial blessing followed by a participatory jam with The Seattle Fandango Project. Grab a plate of yummy tacos from Beacon Hill’s newest business, foodie truck El Sabroso, owned by Daniel and Isabel Perez and located on the SW corner of El Centro de la Raza’s lot. The fun continues with an outdoor concert of local spoken word and hip hop artists.

Traveler’s Thali House, 2524 Beacon Ave. South
Don’t miss Greg Ruby‘s band on Sunday at Traveler’s Thali House from 6-9pm. Dan Hicks (of Dan Hicks and the Hot Licks) says Greg’s work is like “A soundtrack in search of a movie.” Mr. Ruby will be accompanied by violinist Julian Smedley, and Spencer Hoveskeland on acoustic bass. “Seattle’s Greg Ruby swings – truly Hot Jazz”   – Michael Dregni, Vintage Guitar Magazine Nov. 2010

Inay’s Asian Pacific Cuisine, 2503 Beacon Ave South
Inay’s famous drag night typically produces a packed house — this is the first time owner Ernesto will present Atasha Manila for adoring fans on a Sunday… way to liven up a Sunday!
