Your Business District Needs YOU!

Survey, survey what can you tell?

Are you a Beacon Hill resident, business owner, or property owner? Did you grow up on Beacon Hill and know the place like the back of your hand? Do you love to fly your kite or play golf or cricket at Jefferson Park? You are then one of the many stakeholders we want to hear from. No matter how you are connected to Beacon Hill we’d like you to tell us what your experience is in the business district, particularly if you shop, eat & drink, or access services.

At this time we are posting an English-only version online. The goal is to shake out the wrinkles before phase two: Translation. Phase three is about printing and distribution. In the meantime, we’d love your feedback: Are the questions clearly worded? Is it simple to fill out? Not detailed enough? Need more comment boxes?

Hellos …and Goodbyes

HELLO!

You may already have a relationship with this nonprofit banking institution. Originally Seattle-based, now you can find Seattle Metropolitan Credit Union (SMCU) locations from Lynwood to Tukwila, with the closest locations on Rainier Ave. S. and Georgetown. Until January 6th that is! If you haven’t already rsvp’d to their grand opening for the official opening of SMCU’s newest location—right here on Beacon Hill’s Roberto Maestas Festival Street—we hope you will wander by in the coming days to check out Beacon Hill’s newest business.

SMCU Announces Beacon Hill Branch to Serve Latino Community Jan 6 2017

HELLO!

We are already big fans of Luis and Leona’s coffee house but now we get to celebrate and support their new phase of operation as they expand into their new space, and revision the old. Read the news and stay close to the wire for updates as they make the move real.

GOODBYE (sort of)!

You likely know about the sad vacancy at 3201 Beacon Ave. South. It was a surprise for many, but the family-run business has been dealing with ongoing lease and tenant issues for months. Kusina Filipina served the Filipino and Beacon Hill community for more than a decade. From ROCKiT Space open mic night to BHMA Networking Luncheons, we are thankful for the many memories and yummy meals. For now, the family will continue making food available via Chebogz Filipino Food Truck. Follow their story here (I know we will!!): http://chebogz.com
