The Revitalization Plan for North Beacon Hill’s business districts is a working document that guides our development as a commercial center. Many public and private projects will be coming online in the years ahead, and we are committed to tracking their development to ensure that they are appropriate, well-designed, and contribute to a sense of place. We recognize the many ways that the city can invest in infrastructure to help bring about the transformation of our town center, and we also involve private developers who indicate their willingness to engage with the community. Our revitalization plan maintains an emphasis on development over displacement, including affordable housing, living wage jobs, and sustainable urban design and building practices. New development is only a portion of any revitalization plan—equally important are ways we can support existing businesses. Whether it’s a façade improvement campaign, marketing analysis, or technical training, we hope to involve everyone in making Beacon Hill a better place.
