Past Community Events
BBA believes in the power of community. We actively produce and co-sponsor events to serve our neighborhood, improve connectivity between stakeholders, and attract foot traffic onto our sidewalks and into our local establishments.
In May 2023, we partnered with Movimiento Afrolatino Seattle (MÁS) to present Beacon Hill Small Business Pregones, an event highlighting the tradition of pregones (commercial jingles or hype songs) through the performance of five new songs about Beacon Hill Latin@ small businesses by Seattle-area Afrolatin@ musicians. Learn more about the event here.
Our networking happy hours are hosted in neighborhood businesses, inviting business owners to the table to give a presentation and/or sponsor raffle gifts.
Our past signature event, Beacon Art Walkabout, in partnership with Beacon Arts and local businesses and organizations on the hill, included live music, an outdoor art market, food trucks at Stevens Place Park, free pedicab rides up and down Beacon Avenue, and art exhibited in over 25 businesses on Beacon Avenue.
Examples of events we have founded and implemented include the precursor to the Beacon Art Walkabout, the Beacon Boogie (2010-2012), and the Jefferson Park Jubilee (2012-2014), which featured music, food and fun in our local gem of a park.
In November 2018, we hosted Shop Seattle Gems, a first for Beacon Hill. Read more about the event here.
Other past BBA-sponsored events: Posada/Holiday tree lighting, Beacon Rocks!, Beacon Food Forest Ground Making Day, Kimball Art Walk, and more.
Paid members are given organizational voting rights, included in group marketing efforts, listed on the website, informed of all meetings and any unique marketing opportunities.
